K2 Global Retained by Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany

Posted on by K2 New York Office

As you may already know if you’ve been following the news, K2 Global has been retained by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (the “Claims Conference”) for an ongoing advisory engagement.

The Claims Conference is a non-profit organization, headquartered in New York, charged with disbursing compensation to Holocaust survivors on behalf of the German government. Last year, the Claims Conference discovered that, over the course of 16 years, a group of people worked to actively defraud the organization of more than $42 million by falsifying claim applications and pocketing the proceeds. Some of those involved in the scam were Claims Conference employees, while others were accomplices recruited from outside the organization.

K2 has been engaged to analyze how this fraud unfolded and to implement a plan to ensure the future managerial, administrative, cultural and technical integrity of the Claims Conference’s application review process.

To that end, we’ve set up a Claims Conference Compliance hotline. If you have any information on the individuals, organizations, and methods involved in executing the Claims Conference fraud, please call 888-580-0288 (in the U.S.) or +1 917-281-3260 (outside the U.S.) or write to us at claimsconference@k2global.net.

We also have information pages and contact forms in German, Russian and Hebrew on our site at http://www.k2global.net/claims-conference-info. Your personal network may be invaluable to us, too, so please feel free to share this link with anyone you know who might be helpful.
