Over the past three decades, Brian Cairl has honed complex corporate investigation skills in cases covering corruption, municipal fraud, intellectual property infringement, product diversion, counterfeiting, and employee misconduct. As senior managing director and director of investigations at K2 Intelligence, Brian works with clients to mitigate a wide range of fraud and corruption risks and to respond to compliance breaches and integrity incidents; he also provides extensive dispute advisory support. Directing a multidisciplinary team of researchers, cyber experts, and forensic accountants, Brian conducts sensitive and complex business intelligence assignments across multiple jurisdictions for corporations in the medical, pharmaceutical, transportation, real estate, construction, and electronics industries.
Before joining K2 Intelligence, Brian was an associate managing director at Kroll Advisory Solutions. He began his tenure by monitoring and investigating organized crime within Long Island’s private carting industry. His responsibilities also included investigating labor unions as well as construction projects and local municipalities throughout the tri-state area.
Prior to his time at Kroll, Brian spent 14 years as a Senior Special Investigator and Firearms Instructor for the New York State Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. While there, he conducted fraud investigations involving the New York State Medicaid system and the federal Medicare system.
Brian also investigated nursing home elder abuse, which ultimately led him to help develop a training curriculum to educate staff members on adult care laws and the legal implications of abusive/negligent care.
Brian graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a B.S. in criminal justice.
